Small Boy on Bicycle
East Hampton Parks and Recreation and AIRLINE CYCLES have partnered up on this awesome new program for kids ages 3 to 4.  Learn to ride a bike using our Strider Bikes!  We will provide the bikes for the duration of the program.  Helmets are required to participate (contact Airline Cycles for a discount on a helmet if you don't have one).  The program is limited to 10 participants.

Learning to ride using a Strider bike is an easy step-by-step process, which has many significant advantages over the traditional training wheel method. It begins with the child just standing over the bike, walking while holding on to the handlebars. Next, the child will sit on the seat and walk, and then eventually run. Soon after, the child will lift their feet and glide, and then maybe even stand up on the pegs while gliding. It is a progressive step by step process that gets the child used to the feeling of two-wheel motion. Once used to that motion, adding in pedals is a piece of cake! This course will be taught by Brian Holdt of AirLine Cycles, riding his own giant-sized Strider-type bike.

This class is intended for younger children, 2-4 years old, but if you have older children who need to learn to ride, ask Brian about larger Strider bikes available for free rental. Helmets are required; bring your own, or discounted helmets are available for purchase at AirLine Cycles.

* Adjustments and discounts will be applied during checkout if applicable. *
