Autumn Passage
Art and Nature

Come explore the natural environment for artistic inspiration!  This camp will take children outside to experience nature in our 'backyard' and connect our observations to works of art.
Along with drawing the nature spaces and objects we find, we will collect natural materials to use for projects.  Ideas we will consider include fairy gardens, dream catches and wild animal sculptures. 
Some work will be done 'on site' using the outdoors as our canvass.  These will be ephemeral in nature or 'Eco-art', meaning they are a part of the landscape and temporary.
By working in the outdoor environment children become a part of their art as their senses are awakened to their relationship with nature.  Young artists will practice creative problems solving, balance, structure, and composition while working alone or cooperatively.
